• Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is not allowed. Eight casinos are anchored in a relatively small space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent spot, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a few controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; although, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 17:00, and although visas are apparently necessary to cross, there are methods around this, as is true of many borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau casino, features one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 60 table games. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machine games and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and sixty six of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive vacation and hotel complex that features many comforts on top of the gambling den, which houses ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machines and eighty eight tables.
