• Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating background to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall wagering is not legal. Eight gambling dens are established in a relatively tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent destination, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The amazing income acquired from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of limitations requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and though visas are for all intents and purposes required to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is correct of many border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored ship casino, features 150 slot machines and 60 table games. The Naga river boat is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machine games and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel building that features many conveniences accompanying the casino, which contains 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight table games.
